Workshop Transportation and Lodging Information

Participants from outside Mexico City will be staying at Hotel Camino Real, Santa Fe during the workshop. The hotel is less than 10 minutes away from CIDE. Please consult the web page of the hotel for information regarding check-in and check-out times. A standard room has been booked against each participant's name. The room reservations include buffet breakfast which is served in the restaurant located near the lobby area. Camino Real is located at Guillermo González Camarena No. 300, Centro ciudad Santa Fe México D.F., 01210 (http://www.caminoreal.com/destinos/santafe).

From the airport there are authorized cab services to the city, which are located inside the terminal buildings. The cost to the hotel (Camino Real Santa Fe) is around MXN 380 (USD 30.00). The tickets must be purchased prior to boarding the taxis. A 1-2 dollar (10-20 Mexican pesos) tip will be more than enough.

We will provide transportation between the hotel and CIDE on Friday and Saturday.

Useful information

You can hire taxis from the hotel for getting around in the city. These taxis are relatively more expensive but safe. Make sure that you do not flag down cabs in the street because they are not safe. Any restaurant can also arrange for taxis to the hotel.

There are ATM's in the hotel and inside CIDE which dispense cash in the local currency.

In Santa Fe area there are numerous restaurants which serve mainly international food. The service charges are not included in the bill. The standard amount of tip is 10% for a group of up to 5 persons, and 15% for larger groups.

Santa Fe area has an altitude of about 2,500 meters (8,000 feet). The mornings in October are cold. A jacket or pullover will come in handy.
